Three ways to give the AI your material

You can type a topic, attach a PDF, or attach a few photos of your source material, with optional extra instructions in each case. A topic is fastest when you want general questions on a well-known subject. A PDF or photos are better when questions must follow your specific textbook, notes, or policy document.

Whichever you choose, set how many questions you want before you send, so the AI knows how broadly to cover the material.

Writing a topic prompt that works

Specific prompts give specific questions. 'Science' is too broad. 'Class 8 Geography, Chapter 3: Mineral and Power Resources' is far better, and adding the kind of questions you want improves it again: 'include some questions on renewable versus non-renewable sources and a few that ask students to apply the ideas to India'.

Photos of textbook pages

Photos are useful when your material exists only on paper. Take them in good light, hold the phone parallel to the page, and make sure text is sharp and not cut off at the edges. A few clear photos of the pages you taught usually work better than many blurry ones.

If a page is mostly diagrams, add an instruction describing what the diagram shows so questions can be generated about it.

Reviewing drafted questions

Every generated question arrives for review before it is saved, and you can uncheck anything you do not want. Check each correct answer against your material, confirm there is only one defensible answer for single choice questions, and make sure the wording suits your learners' level.

Ask for a few more questions than you need, then keep the strongest. Discarding weak drafts is part of the process, not a failure.

Where the questions go

Confirmed questions are saved to your Question Bank, or straight into a new quiz if you started from quiz creation. Either way, they become reusable: you can filter them by tag and difficulty, combine them with questions you wrote or imported, and use them again in future quizzes.

Adding tags immediately after saving saves time later, when your bank holds hundreds of questions.

Known weak spots

AI is least reliable on very recent events, highly local information such as regional history or a specific school's syllabus details, and exact numbers. It can occasionally produce two options that are both arguably correct, or a question that is accurate in general but different from what your textbook teaches.

Pay extra attention to these areas during review, and write those questions yourself if in doubt.

Mixing AI and your own questions

The strongest quizzes often combine both. AI handles the bulk of routine recall and understanding questions quickly, while you write a few carefully targeted questions on the misconceptions you know your learners have. You know what came up in class; the AI does not.

A single free text question asking learners to explain an idea in their own words is a useful addition to any AI-drafted quiz.

Using results to improve

After the quiz, Question Performance shows which questions were missed most. If an AI-drafted question was missed by almost everyone, reread it; it may be ambiguous or have a subtle error. If it is sound, it points to a genuine learning gap worth addressing.

Bookmark weak areas into Revision and generate or pick fresh questions on the same topic for a follow-up re-test.
