Start with one department

School-wide changes succeed when they start small. Choose one department with a willing lead teacher, often science or mathematics, and agree to run weekly quizzes for one term. A small group can work out the practical details — how questions are tagged, how links are shared with students, how results are reviewed — before the rest of the school joins.

The department's experience then becomes the model and the evidence for everyone else.

Agree on shared conventions

A shared Question Bank only works if everyone tags questions the same way. Before starting, agree on a simple system such as class, subject, and chapter, plus a difficulty level. Decide how quizzes are named, for example 'Class 8 Science — Ch 5 — Weekly'. Small conventions like these save hours of confusion later.

Planning for devices and connectivity

Not every student will have a personal device at home. Quizzes open in a phone browser without an account or app installation, which covers most families, but plan alternatives for those without access. Paper versions can be exported as print-ready papers, either without answers for students or as an offline exam sheet.

In classrooms with a projector, a single shared screen and a QR code can bring most students into a quiz within a minute.

Getting parents on board

Parents often worry that online quizzes mean more screen time or less rigour. A short note explaining that weekly quizzes are brief, help students revise regularly, and give teachers earlier warning when a child is struggling usually reassures them. Weekly rhythm for teachers

A workable rhythm is a short quiz at the end of each week, built mostly from the Question Bank, with a deadline over the weekend. On Monday, teachers check Question Performance and spend the first few minutes of the lesson on the two or three questions most students missed.

Because grading is automatic for objective questions, this adds very little work while giving teachers far better information about each class.

Using data at school level

With several teachers using the same questions, results become comparable across sections.
