Decide what problem you are solving

Organisations often choose a learning management system because it has the longest feature list, then use a fraction of it. A better starting point is the problem: too much time spent creating and grading tests, no reliable record of who completed training, or no way to see where learners struggle. Name the two or three problems that matter most and judge every option against them.

Assessment is where most time goes

For most teachers and trainers, the heaviest workload is not publishing content but checking learning: writing questions, building tests, grading, and reporting. A system that makes this fast — a reusable question bank, AI-assisted question drafting, automatic grading, and clear reports — often saves more time than any other feature.

Low friction for learners

Every extra step for learners reduces completion. If participants must create an account, install an app, and remember a password before starting, many will not. Opening a quiz from a link or QR code in a browser, entering a name and email, and starting straight away removes most of that friction, while OTP verification still confirms who they are.

Planning the rollout

Roll out in stages. Start with one team, course, or class, run it for a few weeks, and fix what does not work. Then expand. Agree early on naming and tagging conventions, since reorganising hundreds of untagged questions later is painful. Nominate one person as the internal go-to for questions during the first months.

Keeping data usable

Results are only valuable if you can get them out. Check that you can export results as CSV for spreadsheets and PDF for sharing, and that you can view them per quiz, per question, and per participant. These three views answer the most common questions: how did this group do, which topics were hard, and how is this person progressing.

Trying before committing reduces risk. A seven-day free trial with everything unlocked is enough to run one or two real assessments with a real group. After the trial, only creating new quizzes and questions requires Premium, while everything already built — sharing, editing, results, and exports — stays available, so you are never locked out of your own data.

Signs an LMS is working

A few months after rollout, look for simple signs: teachers or trainers are creating assessments without being reminded, participants complete them at a steady rate, and results are being used to change what happens next — a lesson re-taught, a module rewritten, or a learner supported earlier than before.

If assessments are being created but nobody looks at the results, the rollout needs attention on reporting habits, not more features.
