YonoLMS ("YonoLMS", "we", "us", or "our") provides an AI-powered assessment and learning management platform for educators, students, and institutions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, school or organization, role (educator, student, or administrator), and password (stored using industry-standard hashing).
• Content you provide: quizzes, assessments, course materials, uploaded documents (Word, CSV, PDF), grades, and feedback created or imported through the Services.
• Usage data: log data, device information, browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interactions with the Services, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
• Assessment integrity data: where enabled by an educator, technical signals such as tab-switch events and session timing used to support anti-cheat and exam-integrity features.
• Payment information: billing details processed by our third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
• Generate AI-assisted quizzes, grading, and feedback for educators and students;
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, cheating, and abuse;
• Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support;
• Improve and personalize the Services; and
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell student personal information, and we do not use student data to serve targeted advertising.

For accounts used in an educational context, YonoLMS acts as a "school official" or service provider on behalf of the institution or educator that creates the account. Student data is used solely to provide the Services — such as generating assessments, calculating grades, and providing feedback — and is not used for any other commercial purpose. Where applicable, we process student data consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and comparable regional education-privacy laws.

We may share information with:

• Your institution: educators and administrators within your school or organization who have legitimate access to your records;
• Service providers: hosting, analytics, email, and payment vendors who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations;
• Legal and safety purposes: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of YonoLMS, our users, or others; and
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including AES-256 encryption of data at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews consistent with SOC 2 Type II practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You or your institution may request deletion of account data as described in Section 8 below.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Educators and institutions may exercise these rights on behalf of students where required. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some functionality of the Services.

Our Services are designed to be used by students under the direction of a school, teacher, or guardian who has agreed to this policy on the student's behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children outside of this educational context without appropriate consent from a school or parent, consistent with COPPA and similar laws.
