Why a digital-first test still needs a paper option

Online delivery is faster to distribute and easier to grade at scale, but it isn't always the safer bet on the day that matters most. A device dies, a connection drops, or a room genuinely doesn't have reliable technology — and a formal exam is the worst possible moment to discover that live. Keeping a printed, blank offline exam paper ready as a fallback costs nothing extra and turns a potential emergency into a non-event.

It's also just useful outside of emergencies: a without-answers copy for a student to review at home, or a with-answers copy so a co-teacher can grade a physical attempt without needing dashboard access.
